Welcome to the Learning Management System (LMS)

Welcome to our online learning platform. This LMS provides access to course materials, assignments, assessments, announcements, and learning resources to support your academic and professional growth.

As your Trainer and LMS Administrator, I encourage you to actively participate in all learning activities, complete tasks on time, and engage professionally with fellow learners.

Together, we will build knowledge, develop practical skills, and achieve competency in our respective fields.

This course equips trainees with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform building finishing works in accordance with construction standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices. The course covers the selection and use of finishing materials, tools, and equipment as well as the application of various wall, floor, ceiling, and decorative finishes used in building construction.

Throughout the course, trainees learn how to prepare surfaces, apply paints, wall linings, claddings, ceiling finishes, rough cast finishes, pointing and jointing, and other decorative treatments. Emphasis is placed on quality workmanship, accurate measurements, material handling, occupational safety and health practices, environmental conservation, and efficient use of resources.

By the end of the course, trainees should be able to prepare work areas, select appropriate materials and tools, apply different building finishes to the required standards, inspect completed work for quality compliance, and maintain tools and equipment used in finishing operations. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical activities to develop competence for employment and self-employment in the construction industry.

In the context of Building and Civil Engineering, Construction Materials (often abbreviated as Building Materials) is a foundational unit that bridges the gap between architectural design and structural reality.

It is the scientific and practical study of the substances used to create the built environment, focusing on their origin, properties, performance, and durability.

A Survey on Building and Construction (often referred to as a Building Survey or Measured Survey) is a comprehensive inspection and technical assessment of a physical structure or a site intended for development. It serves as the vital link between the conceptual design phase and the actual physical execution of a project.
